Hello! The purpose of this e-folio is to showcase my abilities as a teaching professional in Montgomery County
Public Schools. Here, you can access my resume, learn about my philosophy of teaching, and explore evidence that I have collected to support my efficacy in meeting the high standards of education in MCPS. Currently I am pursuing my Master's degree at George Washington University as part of the Teaching Corps Fellows. In August of 2008, I began teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL) at Julius West Middle School in Rockville, MD. I teach five classes and four subjects: ESOL 1, METS U.S. History, METS Social Studies, and
Academic Language Social Studies. In the spring of 2008, I completed two five-week internships in MCPS where I
worked with the staff and students at Quince Orchard High School and at Wheaton Woods Elementary School.
I enjoy working with students of all ages.
To give you a better idea of who I am, here are a few other brief highlights. Prior to graduate
school, I taught ESL to adults for two and a half years at a private school in Bethesda, and I coached the junior varsity field hockey team at Winston Churchill High School (my alma mater) for three seasons. In 2005, I was the first field hockey player to be inducted into the Churchill Sports Hall of Fame. In 2003, I graduated from Haverford College in Haverford, PA, with a BA in linguistics and a minor in psychology. Also, I love to travel, and I have
spent a cumulative two years living abroad in Australia and Europe.
